First and foremost, we are extremely saddened to hear about the tragedy at the Astroworld festival in Houston
, and send our deepest condolences to all affected. I hope with all my heart that whatever assortment of issues that conspired to allow such a terrible incident to occur are uncovered and dealt with properly so that nothing like this can ever happen again.
This is Hip-Hop History Month (U.S. Senate)
. And while we can (and should)
speak at great length as to whether being designated so by the United States government means anything tangible, the general consensus amongst the participants of the culture is that November is as fine a time as any to celebrate the history of the music and culture that have changed the world in so many ways.
Of course, personally, my work has long been to not only celebrate Hip-Hop history, but amplify its current, and potential ability to improve society and uplift humanity. For those who are as interested in Hip-Hop’s future as much as in Hip-Hop’s past, I’m your guy, and this is your newsletter.
