The Hip-Hop Advocate Newsletter
Peace and love to friends, neighbors, supporters and haters!
Happy Old Year!
Lots of “Best of 2018” lists to go through, I know, but I wanted to get one more of these newsletters out to the good people before we say peace to ‘18.
Also, a slow holiday season is a great time to podcast and chill, and binge up on two shows I played a big part in that I think most of you will find really interesting and valuable.
News Beat - Hard-hitting social justice journalism with a touch of hip-hop. Award-winning. Compelling. Now in it’s third season.
Hip-Hop Can Save America - Interviews With Innovators. From hip-hop education to theater to civics and more. Sponsor our second season.
I’m also setting up speaking/workshopping dates for 2019. I talk about hip-hop & social justice, hip-hop and the media, how hip-hop can save your (non-hip-hop) business, hip-hop & technology/hacking, and even, how hip-hop can save this crazy ol’ country of ours. I also conduct podcast workshops (how to start one, podcast editing, etc.) and am available for freelance editing work. Hit me up here and let’s talk about talking!
Lastly, if you’re in NYC on Jan. 12, you can catch me DJing at The Line Up, a super-dope, 8+ years and running, monthly artist showcase and live band open jam. [Sidewalk NYC, 96 Ave. A. 10pm. No Cover.]
A giant thank you to all of you who receive and enjoy this newsletter. I’m working on even more ways to help spread the word about innovation and inspiration within hip-hop music and culture in the new year, so stay tuned. I truly appreciate your interest and support. Yell anytime!
