Peace and love to friends, neighbors, supporters and haters!
Wow. August already? Sorry it took a little while for this edition of the newsletter. Lots going on in my little slice of the world, but a lot of it will interest you too!
For the folks who don’t like paragraphs:
  • I had an amazing time speaking at the Hackers On Planet Earth conference. I think I represented hip-hop well. Video to come!
  • I’ll be presenting at the Show & Prove Hip-Hop Studies Conference (Hip-Hop As Social Justice Journalism) - CA, Dec. 7-9
  • The podcast I produce, News Beat, is now a multiple-award winner! Catch up on our compelling episodes that merge hip-hop with hard-hitting social justice journalism.
  • My other podcast Hip-Hop Can Save America has two new episodes out since we last e-spoke, featuring hip-hop theater performing artist and brilliant science communicator Baba Brinkman, and Dr. Andrea Hunt, who teaches a Sociology of Hip-Hop Culture course at the University of North Alabama.
  • We’re booking Fall ‘18 dates for several hip-hop-related presentations and talks. If you’re looking for interesting, informative and inspirational hip-hoppy stuff, click here to talk about talking!
So, lots of stuff for hungry hip-hop heads. Now, on to some interesting stories I’ve collected from the past couple of weeks.
